My AT with the smexy n awesome she likes fukuda from Bakuman. believe it or not this is fukuda xD Her part: SHITIHSHITSHI compare them. i suck unghh You have to watch her awesomeness xDD
initial reaction is whoa... that's pretty cool. then i see you ask for a critique and i have to consider this more than superficially. i am no artist, but i am a fan of good art. that being said... the blue line work is something new to me, and creates a surreality in the piece that i feel works well with it. the bright blue color clashes with the rest of the piece, but the contrast brings out depth in a way that i feel really enhances what you've done here. the smidge of blue on the cigar, i wouldn't say that its a hindrance, but i don't know that its needed. so while the blue-lite technique is quite appealing, use it carefully. i'd say bueno on the shading and the technique used. accentuating the abs and fading to indistinct. black on black (as in the jacket) can be tricky, a fine line between shape, shade and a black blob. you pulled it off well. and i really appreciate what looks like painting in negative for the zipper, buckle and other pieces of silver. as for the image setup, the structure, i have only this, why is his arm in the air? overall i like the piece enough to fave and to be inspired by the character portrayed, even without knowing who it is. i can see him anywhere from anachronistic feudal Japan to steampunk to modern samurai movies. thanks for your work.
